Who we are:
Founded in 1996, the Kovsie Alumni Trust (KAT) is a legally independent body that recruits donors from the ranks of former Kovsies to provide bursaries and opportunities for student education and training.
Since its founding, thousands of KAT donors have contributed to the financial support of talented students and enabled them to obtain qualifications from the University of the Free State (UFS) despite the financial hardships, disabilities, or other obstacles they faced.
The trust also offers sports bursaries to promising prospective students and plays a significant role in the yearly Matriculant of the Year competition aimed at recruiting the best academic leaders to the UFS. This prestigious national competition lends status to the UFS as an institution of academic preference.
